    What Happens After Posting Bail

Once bail is posted, there's still a process before the person is released. Here's what to expect after we post the bond.

    After Release: What to Expect

    Paperwork is completed

Once bail is posted, the facility processes the release paperwork. This is handled internally at Wake County Detention Center.

Release timing: 1 to 3 hours

Release from Wake County Detention typically takes 1 to 3 hours after bail is posted. Not instant, but not all day either.

    Court dates are scheduled

The defendant must attend all required court dates. Missing court can lead to a warrant, bond forfeiture, and additional charges.

    Release conditions apply immediately

No-contact orders and any other bond conditions are active from the moment of release. Violating them can result in re-arrest.

Important: If you need legal advice about charges, court dates, or release conditions, contact a licensed attorney. Absolute Bail Bonds provides bail bond services only — we do not provide legal advice or legal representation.

What to Have Ready When You Call

You do not need every detail before calling. Start with what you know.

Filling out paperwork and bail bond intake documents
    • Full legal name of the person in custody
    • Date of birth, if available
    • Detention facility, if known
    • Approximate time of arrest
    • Bond amount, if one has been set
    • Whether release conditions have been set
    • Any known additional holds

If you only have the person's name and know they were arrested in Wake County, call with that information. Available records may help us locate the case and get started.
